Risk mitigation for rockfall hazards in steeply dipping coal seam: a case study in Xinjiang, northwestern China

چکیده

Many recent examples have shown that rockfalls can occur in underground steep coal mines. The stratigraphic circumstances, block formation mechanism, and cumulative damage effects of the longwalls a steeply dipping seam (SDCS) make them detrimental to workplace safety. Therefore, this study examined an approach for mitigating rockfall hazards SDCSs. A passive mesh system was installed prevent propagation rockfalls, which decreased number collisions between falling rocks mining equipment. interactions were studied using series full-scale numerical impact tests. following conclusions could be drawn. displacement increased with kinetic energy, showing characteristic strain hardening. peak stress appeared near contact area mesh, it spread edge X-shaped pattern. Stress concentrations likely areas direct edges. when incidence angle increased, cells entering plastic state significantly. internal energy ratio increase angle, indicating greater led larger amount being transferred from into mesh. Finally, method verified by comparing test on-site damaged high replacement frequency annual fatality rate SDCS significantly improved. This provided design drapery disaster prevention, particularly mitigation hazard risks

Designing a Pullback Dragline Panel for Dipping Coal Seam Conditions

This study, in a broad sense, fills in the missing parts in previous efforts at pullback stripping mode design with a dipping coal seam. Three different spoiling procedures have been developed: the normal mode, where the coal seam is flat/nearly flat; the uphill mode, where the coal seam is dipping and the dragline spoils uphill; and the downhill mode, where the coal seam is again dipping but t...

Permeability Prediction in Deep Coal Seam: A Case Study on the No. 3 Coal Seam of the Southern Qinshui Basin in China

The coal permeability is an important parameter in mine methane control and coal bed methane (CBM) exploitation, which determines the practicability of methane extraction. Permeability prediction in deep coal seam plays a significant role in evaluating the practicability of CBM exploitation. The coal permeability depends on the coal fractures controlled by strata stress, gas pressure, and strat...

Optimization of Concurrent Mining and Reclamation Plans for Single Coal Seam – a Case Study in Northern Anhui, China

Abstract: The extraction of underground ore body inevitably causes a large amount of land subsidence. Current reclamation technologies in China mainly focus on stable subsided land. Therefore, a new technology for reclaiming unstable subsiding land is being studied for restoring farmland as much as possible based on a case study in Northern Anhui, China. In consideration of the mining plan, sub...
